Wow! Can't believe it has been over a month since graduation! It was a whirlwind weekend in Lubbock full of wonderfully supportive family and friends and a great party at G.G.'s. I was so thrilled to have my great aunts and uncles drive in from Oklahoma and my cousin Eric and Aunt Stephanie came in from El Paso. My cousin Lola was stranded in Dallas due to rain and had to fly back to El Paso - so sad I missed her. Fantastic Family Reunion that was very overdue!


I am having a very difficult time not being able to relax without feeling there is something I am supposed to be working on other than being a working mom but I am so very much enjoying my extra time for Ash, Chris, my girlfriends etc. I have presented at various conferences about my dissertation research and am working on getting published but honestly even opening the document brings too much PTSD to get much accomplished. It was a nightmare but looking back I am glad I finished it.

So I am officially done with school forever! Chris could not be more thrilled! Thanks to everyone once again who was such an amazing support through the process!

DSP End of Year Program

Ash's end of year program was very cute! It was a mix of what they do each week in Chapel and what they do in "creative movement" class. Only the 2nd video is worth anything but I posted them all so you can get the full effect! I have really loved this school the last 2 years as it has given her so much confidence and is such a loving Christian atmosphere. She has learned a great deal and had time to spread her wings! She will miss it next year when she goes to a different Pre-K but I hope her new school brings her even more wonderful rich experiences!

10 Year Anniversary!

June 10th was our 10 year anniversary! WOW! I truly cannot believe it has been 10 years since Chris and I were married. I feel so very lucky to have him in my life and to have our beautiful daughter who made us a family. Many Many changes/surprises in 10 years but I can honestly say that I would marry him again today! In honor of this event, I have posted pictures from our wedding that I scanned in at work as the photos were not digital back then! We were such babies in these pics! We watched our VHS wedding video as a family last week. Ash loved it and kept asking where she and all of her cousins were in the movie? Chris and I celebrated our anniversary in Vegas in March and we are planning a trip to the beach in July. Looking forward to many many years to come!

We are definitely thrilled Summer is here. We are enjoying the pool everyday and it is amazing to see how after 1 month, Ash is making significant progress swimming. So this makes mommy very happy for multiple reasons - 1. that she can safely evacuate the pool 2. that I can return to my love of swimming without her hanging off my neck!

Chris has also planted tomatoes and peppers and we are loving eating our homegrown goods. Happy Summer everyone!
