Goblin Glow

I have loved the Lakeway festivals for many years - way before I had a child. One of my favorite is the Goblin Glow. After a very full eventful day of shopping in Fredericksburg and wineries in Johnson City celebrating Aunt Francine's 50th birthday - We met our fabulous friends Carrie and Amy and their kiddos down at the lakeside park for hot air balloons, candy, games, music and scares. Ash was the perfect age this year to enjoy all the fun! Another great hill country festival!

Tigers Homecoming Football

Since the start of her kinder year, Miss A is all about the Dripping Springs Tigers Football team. Her first obsession started on Meet the Teacher night when we learned that her teacher's son is the Mascot for the Football team. Now as usual she was scared to death of him because he was in a mask but that didn't mean she didn't stop talking about him. Then to add to the obsession, every Friday the cheerleaders and band throw a pep rally at her school for the upcoming game. She had begged and begged to go to a game. So it worked out that we took her to the Homecoming game. I grew up in a town that had 4 high schools and the cross town rivalry was fun but we didn't learn about it or get into until High school. In a small town - they start them early and the whole town gets in on the fun. This Homecoming game was so precious! I mean tailgating, full smokers of food and nice tables to have dinner in the stadium, mums for all ages and true team Spirit. We had a great time and I really pray that we stay in this town and she gets to grow up enjoying this hometown pride. Dripping is growing so fast that I fear it will change before she graduates but it is nice while it lasts. My little Tiger in training!

Fall Fun

I am sooo very behind so I combined a few activities - trips to the bookstore, friends birthdays and best of all enjoying a hot cup of coffee on my front porch glider on a Sunday morning after a gorgeous Fall rain while my baby girl and 12 year old Lab play in the yard. Not sure there is anything better! Oh how we love the Fall and appreciate the rain! We had not seen green grass in over 6 months and have more now from October-December than through the whole Spring. Bring on the rain!
