Let's Go Fly a Kite!

Chris bought Ash a Disney Princess Kite for Easter. Except she saw it in his truck and being the softy he is - he gave it to her right away. So one Sunday morning we went to our old Neighborhood park to fly her new kite - it was a Lubbock Wind kind of day so it was just perfect.

Please notice - Ash has run off to play on the playground equipment and chase Bailey and Chris and I are left to fly the kite - so typical but we did enjoy ourselves - had not flown a kite in many many years!

My only picture of Ash in any sort of wildflowers/bluebonnets this year. The drought was that bad. Every year since she was born I have had these fabulous pics of her in fields of flowers - this year one cute smiling 4.75 year old and 5 bluebonnets and a 11.5 yr old dog that didn't feel like posing

Aunt Fran

(last summer with Aunt Fran and Uncle Bart)

Cooking with Fran

To say that Miss A is obsessed with her Aunt Francine is true understatement. She LOVES her and demands all of her time whenever she is anywhere near. Bart and Francine came to see our new house even though we were still in the painting, messy phase and Ash would not even let Francine have 1 adult conversation. She dominated all her time!

She loves her Aunt Fran for many reasons - they make up the most creative games together - including rolling in the grass, pretending they are pregnant with animals, looking at the clouds, dress up, marching band and the list goes on and on. Additionally, Fran teaches her to cook (we know her mother isnt doing this) and gets her to eat things I would have bet money she never would have tried - salmon, corn on the cob, steak, salad etc - she just adores her!

Thank you Francine for being such an amazingly patient and fun Aunt to Miss A! We know you have 3 kids and 4 grandkids of your own but one little curly headed 4 year old thinks you are awesome!

1st Swim in Backyard!

This year has been unbearably dry and hot. We have had virtually zero wildflowers and no rain. The only thing a very hot spring is good for is swimming! Especially to a 4 year old - she could care less that the pool was ice cold - she was getting in it!

As usual these pictures are backwards - The 1st weekend in April, Miss A cam home from school, swam for approximately 45 minutes, ate dinner and passed out on the couch at 6:30p from the excitement!
