Labor Day Weekend Festivities

Over Labor Day weekend, cousins Erin and Hayden made a road trip down to visit the Harmons! Sister Sydney was at Disney World with her Auntie Morg and father Ron was caring for his sweet momma who had recently had a liver transplant and is doing really well, therefore it was time for Hayden to have his own special trip!

Ash and Hayden loved chasing each other all of the house and squealing with delight. As usual I had a full itinerary of activities planned. We visited the zoo, park, pool and boated on the lake. And as an extra special bonus, the conniving mothers that we are... we did not allow naps and worked our hardest to tucker the poor children out so that we could go to Nutty Brown for the Red Dirt Festival. We were able to catch Stoney LaRue and Cross Canadian Ragweed and they were great but mostly we just loved getting to gab without our kiddos!

I always love having family and friends come to stay and watching Hayden and Ashton play reminded me of Tyler and Morgan playing when we were little. Great memories! Looking forward to seeing them in Lubbock in a few weeks

Daddy's Girl

Chris has been working in San Antonio quite a bit lately and Ash is more obsessed with him than ever. The separation is hard on both of them as he hates to miss a minute of her life but luckily she will talk endlessly on the phone to him giving him full reports of her day.

She had her 1st tearful day at school on Friday as Daddy was back in town and had dropped her off. She was counting the hours to go home and play with him. She is often found wearing his clothes (below), boots, hat and sunglasses. They have a game to see who can hug the other one the tightest. He calls himself the big bad boss daddy to her but of course we all laugh as she has him extremely wrapped around her finger. They have endless hours of tickling and it makes me smile as I can remember this being my nightly ritual with my dad. She talks all about how she wants to go hunting with Daddy when she turns 5 and actually sits through the shows with him on TV. She even plays a hunting game on my iphone - yikes! It is pretty funny how everyone expects Chris to want a boy but I am 100% certain he couldn't love anything more than he loves this little drama queen who has stolen his heart and has total admiration for him. I love their relationship!

Flower Girl

Sorry for the 1000 pictures but what a beautiful wonderful wedding! Chris' cousin Brooke was married in August and Ashton and Trinity were her flower girls. They had a blast getting all dressed up, pampered and truly believed they were the stars of the show. I didn't get any good pictures of the gorgeous bride and her hot fireman groom but seriously they are the barbie and ken of 2010. So precious and like Brooke's parents, they have been together since they were 15. Enjoy the videos of Caden and the girls dancing the night away! Very classy, well organized wedding due to Helen and GG's hard work. I was blown away by Brooke and her father's dance. So much fun and still made me extremely emotional. Hard to believe I have known Brooke since she was eight and now my daughter is old enough to be her flower girl! Watching the pictures of Brooke growing up made me realize how fast my own sweet baby is growing up. Overall, we couldn't be more happy for Brooke and Nolan!
