Comal County Fair

In September we met Miss Cortney and Miss Kate at the Comal County Fair in New Braunfels. It was just a tad bit hot but the kiddos still had a great time. The baby chicks were a big hit - though now that we have chickens of our own, a little less mystical for this momma. We finished the wonderful day with a yummy dinner at the Gristmill and music outside Gruene Hall. Great day with great friends

A Night on the Town

In September my work paid for tickets for Chris and I to attend a gala dinner for the Lone Star Paralysis Foundation. The theme was a 5 course dinner matched with a flavored martini for each course. Needless to say it was a night we need not drive home. So we got a fabulous hotel downtown. It was a regular 1st class Staycation. It was a great event for Chris filled with professional football players and Bill Engval. Partying it up in our own town and pretending we lived far away! The suite was caddy corner to the event and the Capital. We had such a fabulous date night! Thanks Mimi and Nana for helping make the night great!

Love is in the Air

My baby Brother is getting married and Nikki's parents hosted a wonderful engagement party in The Woodlands/Spring in August. We really enjoyed meeting her family and friends and look forward to our family circle growing! Great party and a great group of people!

Flower Girl to be

First Day of Kindergarten

Our baby started kindergarten no matter how hard we tried to stop her. Meet the teacher night was very hard for her daddy. He could not get over how large the school was and how little she looked next to the "big kids." His fear of her being in this huge school all alone was somewhat fixed by signing her mother up to be room mother. I had to explain to her teacher that I have zero skills when it comes to crafts, laminating, cutting, pasting, or anything that requires phonics. Luckily all I am in charge of is e-mailing the other parents - this is right up my alley.

The early mornings are killing me but I guess this is our world now! Grown up world!

I didn't cry the first day or even the 2nd day. She still needed me at that point. But the 9th day I fell apart. She ran into the school without looking back and she just looked so grown up. It was heartbreaking and wonderful all at the same time.

Miss A was pretty nervous at first but in the last two months she has made so many new friends and is spouting off new knowledge a mile a minute. She worships her teacher and is amazing us with her ability to read. We are so proud of her good behavior and hope that she continues to love school.
