Snow in the Hill Country

It is a rarity for it to snow in the Hill Country so when it does - we must rush out to enjoy it. We do not have a ski suit so we improvised with a coat and footy pjs. We did have beautiful new snow boots from out trip to Lubbock - thank goodness for one extra wear before they were outgrown - thanks Nana. It was brief but we enjoyed eating it and making a very mini snowman that was so small Bailey trampled it before I could get a pic. On to Spring I say!

Afternoon in Gruene

Checking out pretend germs

Kids sized grocery store

Driving an ambulance

Quite the little bank teller

Riding a bull

One afternoon we loaded up and went shopping at the Gruene trade days. I had not been there since my masters graduation in 2003. It has really grown. We had lunch at the Gristmill and Ash was great for the day of shopping ~ mostly because of the promised trip to the New Braunfels Childrens Museum. This was a very cool place. I was shocked how big it was and so much better than the Austin Children's Museum for kiddos her age. Great day other than she never wanted to leave.

Ready for Spring

One of the few days in February that it was warm and dry, we packed a picnic and headed to the park.

Valentines Fun

Valentine's weekend Miss A and her BFF CoCo attended their 1st High Tea. It was held at this cute restaurant in Dripping called Hemisphere. They had the table all set up for our girls with Beatrix Potter themed China and table cloths. The girls thought they were so big drinking from real tea cups. Mostly they loved the sugar cubes, cookies and candy. Afterwards they enjoyed some quality playscape time in our backyard. Two adorable sweetarts!

Momma's Girl

Ash loves to talk about how we look alike. Here is our latest close-up. I love my little bug and miss her since I have been in Washington DC for 4 days

Hey Cupcake!

Friday night we went out to eat and then took Ash over to Hey Cupcake in the Silver Airstream on Congress Ave.

Is there anything more wonderful to a 3 year old girl than a large cupcake with pink icing and sprinkles? I think Miss A thinks she hit the jackpot!

Dinner with Baker Family

Harmonica accompanying the piano

It is amazing that my college roommate Cortney lives in the same town and yet we never see each other enough. After living in different states for over 5 years, you would think we would be better about getting together but babies, jobs, school and an hour commute make it more and more difficult. We had the Baker family over for dinner in January as Ash could not wait one more day to see sweet Baby Bishop. She is OBSESSED with all things baby. He is adorable! Of course Kate and Ash had a great time with all the new Christmas toys and are at such a wonderful independent age to play together without Mommies & Daddies. They put on a full concert with all of the new instruments. It was quite entertaining! Overall, I think Chris got a little of the baby bug having Mr. Bishop around as well and that never hurts!

Shriner Circus

We took Miss A to the Shriner Circus at the new Cedar Park center. This was her 1st circus experience. She was a clown for Halloween so seeing the clowns was a big deal. This circus was very SPECIAL to say the least. So glad the money went for a good cause but um, it was aimed at an older rowdier crowd with motorcyclists with KISS makeup and tongues sticking out and loud heavy metal music, contortionists, trapeze artists with not too many skills, I just could go on and on at the oddities.

This very retro Lion tamer looked like Thor - there was a very 70-80's theme to the entire show

These wonderful Vegas showgirl style dancers were in their late 40's, wearing extremely tight spandex and very well-endowed in the chest region and thigh region - it was quite a sight - they took their job very seriously

After the circus, you must come home and play with your own circus dog
Overall, it was a good family experience to talk about if nothing else. Ash was worn out. The circus was over 3 hours long and we left after 2. Bring on Ringling Brothers - Shriner has their own special niche!
