The Morning Dawdler

Cowgirl Day @ School

Rainy Morning Fun!
My sweet daughter is the ultimate dawdler in the mornings. She can take any task and make it take 5 times as long. It isn't that she doesn't want to go to school or whatever weekend activity we have planned it is just that she wants to do it in her time frame. She can literally take 45 minutes to eat a bowl of cereal and that is if she has made a decision about what she wants to eat after examining everything in the pantry and frig. She currently wants to dress herself and decide which shoes go with the outfits that she is wearing and which shoes she thinks Miss Shannon (her teacher) will like and then she likes to decide if she wants pigtails or a pony tail. In addition to these decisions, she then wants to decide which toy or baby doll will ride in the car with us for the venture. To add to the fun we are also slowly potty training and she loves to sit on the potty and sing songs and do anything except go to the potty. Some mornings she also wants to put on makeup with me which adds a good amount of time to then clean it off of her and the outfit or she wants to wash her hands over and over to see how big of bubbles she can make. Then she enjoys inspecting her body and mine for any boo boos that may need Scooby Doo band aids. Next she wants to give Jacque and Bailey bones and tell them good bye. This only leads us to the front door where she wants to know what is in her lunch for the next day. As she slowly steps over the threshold of the front door (many days she runs back in only to decide upon a different toy), she then decides that she wants to water all the flowers on the front porch or she plants herself in her red chair to tell me that she just wants to "RELAX" with a very southern accent. All of it is cute and sweet and thank the Lord I have freedom on what time I get to work but I will tell you that when she starts kindergarten, we are in a for a big shock to be anywhere before 9am.

It's good to be slow eater! (Like her Aunt Alli)I think it's great she's not in any big rush to leave her home!
