I had a work conference in NYC in December and it was the perfect time to celebrate my mom's birthday with her 1st trip to the Big Apple! We had a blast! It was so fun to see mom walking around with her mouth hanging open. She just kept saying that she had heard of all of these places for years and couldn't believe she was here. We were both so worried it was going to be freezing that we over prepared and layered ourselves to death but we did look the part in our comfy boots, scarves from Tillie, hats from Somer and mom even wore her coat from Grandma.

Our hotel was beautiful and located in the middle of everything. We walked everywhere ~ down 5th Avenue to see Rockefeller Center past Tiffany's and Sacks 5th Avenue - the shop windows are so amazing ~ to Central Park ~ to Times Square and all the way back from our Ferry trip to see the Statue of Liberty. The one thing that I did not get pictures of was our visit to Broadway. We went to see the play "A Little Night Music" staring Bernadette Peters and Elaine Stritch in the cutest old theater. It was such a talented cast of actors and singers! http://www.nightmusiconbroadway.com/

I am so glad I was able to share the time with mom and I will definitely enjoy bringing Ash to shop and sightsee someday.

We both agreed that we never want to live there - it is just too crowded and too hard to see the sky but it is a wonderful exciting place to visit.
