August 2014

Happy August!!! Last month of Summer and we did our best to pack it full of fun! Alexan was 4 months and starting to be more interactive and developing her outgoing personality and Ashton was busy with playdates, golf camp and getting ready to start 3rd grade.

We had a wonderful time with a family vacation to Rockport to celebrate my 36th birthday and Mimi's retirement. We rented a fabulous house on the bay where we could fish right off our dock or sit on the beautiful veranda and drink wine and rock my baby! Alexan spent many an hour on the deck jumping in her bouncer while Ken was still recovering from surgery and hating all the new medicines that they had given him but he was a trooper and hung in there for the fun. Chris, Ryan and Laura went fishing and caught and cooked our yummy dinner and Chris bought me a carrot cake to celebrate! We had wonderful times on the beach and exploring the town.

G-Daddy came to Dripping and we kept him busy with trips to Wimberley in the 99 degree heat! We explored our favorite little town - which means Ashton made G-Daddy buy her ice cream and toys, ate at the Leaning Pear where G-Daddy commented the food was very Austiny (no steak and baked potatoes), brunch at Jack Allens and swimming at the hotel pool. It was so good to have him hear to see how much Lex had grown and for his usual mental match with Ash!

We also had a visit from Helen and then Brooke and Nolan so they could all meet Alexan and we ate some yummy Salt Lick to celebrate! Little did we know they had a baby on the way! So exciting!

Papa continued to improve throughout the month and we were thankful for his good health! We wrapped up the month watching Texas Tech football on TV and dressing the girls up for the festivities, pedicures to start the school year, Alexan ate her 1st baby food of carrots and thought they were pretty great and we took Ashton and CoCo to a Bridget Mendler concert. The girls had grown up watching her on good Luck Charlie and they were over the moon excited to see her in person and they even wiggled themselves up to the front row and swear that she waved at them! So fun to watch their faces! Overall a great month watching our girls grow!
